I wanted to get more personally with you all because I usually don’t talk about myself.  I rather hear other people’s stories than mines. So if you feel inclined to tell me a fun or interesting fact about yourself too. (This what it’s all about, right?)


  1. I am a business administration major (I wanted to major in Hotel Hospitality/Business Management/Entrepreneur and Leadership once upon a time)
  2. Speaking of Once Upon A Time (huge fan) and I have been a fan of Disney since childhood. (Where are all my 90s babies at?)
  3.  I am right-handed.
  4. I am follower and lover of God. I am active in my church back at home and here at college too.
  5. I want to travel the world and learn about the cultures, food and people.
  6. I am a major foodie.
  7. Favorite cuisines are Korean, Italian, Soul Food, Mexican, Indian (Both), Japanese and Germany
  8. Willing to try new cuisines from other countries
  9. My guilty pleasure sweets are Rice Krispies, Hershey Bars with Almonds, M&Ms, Cosmopolitan Ice Cream and anything Gelato.
  10. I can seat and watch food network shows like cupcake wars, Master Chef, The Pioneer Woman, Chopped, Netflix’s Chef’s table and The Great British Bake Off.
  11. T.V. Guilty Pleasures are So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD), The Sing Off, The UK X Factor, CNN Anthony Bourdain’s: Parts Unknown, Anything on BBC TV, Ovation TV, The Travel Network, Old Western movies( You can thank my Mom and Dad), FX Movies and FreeForm Movie Nights. Nick@Nite 90s shows only.
  12. I am obsessed and a huge fan of Korean Pop Culture (Kpop)  and Korean Dramas. It all started with my mentor Mrs. Mo, who was an Army linguist who spoke Korean and my friend, Sandra who is also obsessed too. (Thank you both!!)
  13. Talking about Kpop my favorite groups are EXO, Red Velvet, Oh My Girl, Mamamoo, Sistar (tear), 4minute, Sonamoo, WA$$UP, GOT7, 2NE1, Minzy, The Unnies, Big Bang, Ailee and the list could go on.
  14. I also love gospel  (i.e. Tasha Cobbs, Travis Greene, Kirk Franklin, Marvin Sapp, Mary Mary, Vashawn Mitchell and so much more.) Reggae, Reggaeton, Classical, Latin, Jazz (Thanks Dad!!), some Pop, 90s Country, R&B and Neo Soul Music. (I’m well rounded, Right?)
  15. Since I love all those types of genres of music, I love to dance and it does not matter where I am, It could be a living room, my bedroom, birthday party, school dance or just a community event, you can find me on the dance floor.
  16. I Love to Zumba (dancing + workout= Happy Karina)!!! I workout often so I like to incorporate other workouts like H.I.I.T, Bootcamp and Pinterest workouts for the gym.
  17. I don’t have a favorite color. I used to like just one color but then find another one to like so I gave up on sticking to just one or three colors only.
  18. My favorite times of the year are Thanksgiving and Christmas!!
  19. I love Fall and Winter because my family comes to town and my mom cooks. Enough said!
  20. I am a Winter baby!!!
  21. I am a clean freak. If my room is dirty I won’t be able to function until everything is in its place, has been mopped, swept and cleaned out before I can go back to what I was doing before.
  22. I love denim shirts, tee shirts and blouses.
  23. I am a skirt and dress type of girl!!
  24. I do like jeans but it’s a love hate relationship they either fit or they don’t (Thunder thighs crew where you at? Proud of them but I am still in the gym!!)
  25. I have 20+ shoes and counting
  26. I am a lover of History and documentaries
  27. A family tradition on Thanksgiving day is that my family watchs the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.
  28. And on Christmas Day, my Mom and me watch the Macy’s Christmas Day Parade.
  29. My father and I love March Madness (Kentucky University and University of Missouri, UofA and many other college b-ball teams)
  30. My Mom, Dad and Me love Basketball both the NBA and College (But we prefer College)
  31. I have three dogs but one died recently. Their names are Pogo and Nina (Brother and Sister) and Jojo (Our Rescue baby)
  32. Pogo died a year ago and that’s why Jojo is part of the family now.
  33. Pogo and Nina are mutts.
  34. Jojo is a mutt too.
  35. I am dog lover. No cats
  36. I got Pogo and Nina before I started High School.
  37. I have two older sisters, Kathie and Myrina and one older brother, Earnest (aka EJ)t!!
  38. I am family oriented and I’m close with my family.
  39. I am 20 years my eldest sister.
  40. My sister, Myrina calls me Rinta.
  41. My GodFather calls me Reese. He is the only one that can call me that!!!
  42. I have many nicknames that only those people can call me them.
  43. I don’t like when people say my name wrong. It is Karina not Katrina. Where is the T in my name.
  44. I am an extrovert with introvert tendencies.
  45. I have a passion for low-income families, children and homeless people. I want to help them if they want to be helped.
  46. I am small town girl and Proud of it.
  47. I love cities but there is nothing like small towns
  48. I love Mom and Pops shops
  49. Farmer’s Markets are my favorite places to go for groceries and see what the vendors have.
  50. I love to volunteer my time for causes that deal with education, government, children, injustices, low-income families, single parents and homeless.

    Here are 5 facts about myself:
    1. I am a lover of God and a Jesus freak.
    2. I want to live outside the USA and just visit the USA when I miss it.
    3. I will one day be able to assist families in need, children in child marriges and help prevent female GM (genitalia mutilation.)
    4. One of my passions is singing. It is like breathing is to living to.
    5. I am learning how to be a mom to adult children. It is very different to say the least.
